Fulham shared same transfer mission at weekend

Representatives from Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion travelled to Portugal over the weekend, according to the local media.

The Seagulls and Whites both sent scouts to Sunday’s league game between Porto and Sporting, according to newspaper A Bola.

It’s undeniable that Brighton and Fulham were using such a pivotal match as a showcase to identify some summer targets.

First to demonstrate their mettle, Porto scored goals from Pepê and Evanilson to take a 2-0 lead. After that, Sporting sensation Viktor Gyokeres scored twice to tie the game and almost give the Lions the league title, demonstrating why he’s currently one of the most anticipated players in Europe.

The intriguing thing about such scouting trips is that it’s still entirely unclear who Brighton and Fulham would be keeping an eye on during that match, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise if both teams target a Porto player come summertime. This is due to recent reports stating that Brighton attended the Dragons’ match against Vitória Guimarães, while the Whites attended their tie with Famalicão.
But we also can’t overlook Sporting’s plenty of quality on the team, even though they are poised to win the league. Gyokeres scored 40 goals in Portugal this season, so it’s difficult to ignore reports that Fulham was among the teams trying to get him before he joined the Lions. Gyokeres was signed by Coventry City.
