Fulham are now confident about beating Manchester City to the signing of Andre from Fluminense.
That is according to the Evening Standard.
So, what is the latest on Manchester City target Andre? Let’s take a look…
Fulham is certain they will sign the Manchester City target. Andra
According to a report from Globo Esporte in Brazil, Kalvin Phillips is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium, and Manch
ester City has made an approach to sign the Brazil international.
But Fulham is now hopeful that they can get Andre to Craven Cottage, the Evening Standard reports.
The South American, who Pep Guardiola referred to as a “quality” player at the FIFA Club World Cup, has previously stated that playing in the Premier League is his “big dream,” so a January move to England does appear likely.
In the 2022–2023 season, Andre made 60 appearances for Fluminense and netted one goal.
Andre joining Fulham could still be advantageous for Manchester City.
Even if the £25,000-per-week player signs with Fulham, Manchester City might gain from it.
Joao Palhinha, the 26-year-old from Fulham, is reportedly another midfield option for Manchester City, although the Evening Standard suggests the Portugal international may leave if Andre signs.
So, this winter at Craven Cottage, it might be a case of one in, one out.
If Phillips leaves, Manchester City is very likely to sign a new central midfield player.
The England international is expected to move to Newcastle, but TEAMtalk reports that there is currently a dispute regarding the specifics of his loan.
Given that the Manchester City No. 4 is reportedly open to joining the Italian powerhouse, Juventus may be able to take advantage of this.
Keep a watch on that situation, as Phillips’ departure might lead to additional activity at Manchester City in the wake of a £21.7 million deal to sign River Plate’s Claudio Echeverri.
