Max Holmes signed a four-year contract extension with the Club, securing his future as a Cat.
A contract that will keep the 21-year-old active until at least the end of 2028 has been inked.
Holmes made his debut in Round 3, 2021, and he has since established himself as a regular member of Geelong’s squad, appearing in 27 of the team’s past 29 games.
As he begins his fourth season in the AFL, Holmes has built on his success in 2023. Having spent the most of his career playing outside midfield, Holmes has filled a variety of roles in the first six rounds of 2024 and has been one of the Cats’ most reliable contributors to the team’s strong start to the season.
Andrew Mackie, General Manager of Geelong Football, expressed the club’s excitement at landing Holmes for an additional four years.
This Saturday at the MCG, Geelong takes on Carlton as part of the AFL’s Anzac Round. “Max has shown great progression since arriving at the Club with his speed and running capacity some of his exciting attributes. He has a great attitude and commitment to his development and we can’t wait to see him continue to grow as a person and a player.” “We are all looking forward to having him running around in the Hoops for the next four years,” the club says.
