After a poor College Football Playoff season finale, the Georgia Bulldogs are hoping to return to the national title game. Georgia finished the season with an 11-3 record and a 6-2 record in SEC play after losing to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 23-10 in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals. The Bulldogs received an early-round exit despite winning the SEC Championship trophy, forcing head coach Kirby Smart and his staff to start over.
As the Bulldogs attempt to get back on top of the college football world, after winning back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022, they
suffered a major roster hit. Linebacker Chaz Chambliss announced his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, leaving a major defensive void to fill for the Bulldogs. View the original article to see embedded media. During the 2024 college football season, Chambliss recorded 6.5 sacks and 41 tackles. He finished his four-year college career with one interception, three pass deflections, nine sacks and 86 tackles. The Georgia native served as anchor on the Bulldogs’ defense in 2024, alongside NFL Draft prospect Jalon Walker. In four years with the Bulldogs, Chambliss had three College Football Playoff appearances, winning the title with Georgia in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Chambliss helped Georgia compete for a national title in three of his four years with the program, with College Football Playoff appearances in 2021, 2022 and 2024.
