A post-mortem examination on a mother found dead at a flat in Gillingham has failed to establish the cause of her death, Kent Police have said.
On June 17 Monday, the woman’s body and that of a child—whom the police surmise is her daughter—were discovered at the flat on Trafalgar Street.
The woman needed more testing, according to the police, but the death was not being looked into suspiciously.
The infant is expected to undergo a post-mortem examination .
Authorities reported that their family had been located and that they were working with relatives to formally identify the two.
According to police, this is a “particularly sensitive” inquiry.
It’s thought that those in need of assistance rented the flat.
