Keith Millen: Gillingham interim boss successfully appeals FA charge
Keith Millen, the interim head coach of Gillingham, has successfully contested an FA misconduct allegation against him for being sent off during the team’s match against Walsall.
The 57-year-old was given a red card in the game’s 28th minute, losing 4-1.
Tom Knowles, a winger for Walsall, was accused of being tripped by him while attempting to take a throw-in.
After receiving a written response and video footage, the FA commission reversed the allegation.
“It’s a relief, not so much of what the punishment might have been but, from my own point of view, to sort of clear my name,” Millen stated.
“I didn’t feel well about being accused of misbehaviour.
“I still feel a little bit hard done by because I think the sending off had a big impact on the game.”
Since Neil Harris was fired on October 5, Millen has been in command of the Gills. This Saturday, the League Two squad will play Newport at home under Millen’s direction.
