Gillingham join Bradford City with interest in 44-year-old manager

Dean Holden has been added on Gillingham and Bradford’s shortlists for the open managerial jobs, and they are thinking of making him their next manager.
Following the dismissals of Neil Harris and Mark Hughes earlier this month, both teams are looking for a new manager.
Since departing Charlton Athletic at the end of August, Holden has not had a job.

It appears that other League Two teams are considering the possibility of hiring Dean Holden as their new manager, in addition to Bradford City.

That comes after journalist Alan Nixon reported that, in their quest to find Nick Harris’ replacement at Priestfield, Gillingham was also thinking about making a bid for Holden.

What state is Holden in right now?
Holden is now without a club after Charlton Athletic, of League One, fired him from his position as manager of the Addicks after nine months in which he managed the team and won twelve of his thirty-two games.

But according to recent reports, Bradford has put Holden on a list of candidates to take over as manager of Valley Parade.

After Mark Hughes was fired earlier this month, the Bantams are currently looking for a replacement. It was previously reported that Holden had shown interest in managing the Yorkshire team.

As Holden searches for his next position in the game, it appears that Bradford is not the only English football team on his list of potential destinations in the fourth division.

What is the most recent development about Gillingham’s manager search?
Gillingham, who fired Neil Harris earlier this month, is searching for a new manager in the same way as Bradford.

Nixon’s most recent post indicates that the Gills are examining Holden as a potential permanent leader at Priestfield.

It’s believed that Holden is willing to play in League Two, which might help these two teams find a new manager.

Gillingham is not just considering names, though; Stephen Clemence, a former coach at Aston Villa, Hull, Newcastle, West Brom, and Manchester City’s academy, is also rumoured to be on the short list. Gillingham was formerly the manager of Bristol City.

Where are League Two, Bradford, and Gillingham?
Since the beginning of the League Two season, Gillingham and Bradford have had different degrees of success.

The Gills have demonstrated that they have what it takes to challenge for promotion this season, even after Harris was fired, and they are now in the play-off spots.

In comparison, Bradford is presently in the lower part of the League Two rankings after struggling to establish any traction this season.
