Road closure after fatal collision as man dies in Gillingham

After being struck by a car in Gillingham, a guy passed away. On Tuesday, July 30, a man in his 60s was the victim of a deadly collision.

He was hurried to the hospital after suffering severe injuries. His untimely death  has finally been confirmed by the police.

Police are pleading with anyone who may have dashcam footage from the incident to contact them and with witnesses to come forward.

On July 25, 2024, at around 9:20 p.m., the deadly crash occurred. A person was struck by a blue BMW M3 convertible that was going along Pier Road close to the intersection with Mariners View.

The pedestrian, a guy in his 60s, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he passed away on Tuesday, July 30, according to a spokesman for Kent Police.

“Those who saw the car before the incident or witnessed the collision itself are being urged by Kent Police’s Serious incident Investigation Unit (SCIU) officers to contact the SCIU witness appeal line at 01622 798538 or send an email to sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk, citing SM/SS/125/23.
