Teenager charged with stabbing

A Gillingham teenager has been charged in connection with stabbing a man during an unprovoked assault in Edenbridge.

The victim was allegedly attacked in Springfield Road, after approaching a group of young people who had climbed onto a neighbour’s vehicle.

It is reported when he asked them to get off the car one of the group removed a sharp object from his pocket, described as a bike spoke, and stabbed the item into the victim’s groin area.

The man, aged in his 30s, suffered multiple puncture wounds and required hospital treatment.

Later that day, an arrest was made of a suspect. After that, he was given bail while a member of the Tonbridge Victim Based Crime Team kept collecting evidence in the hopes of bringing a successful case.

The 15-year-old from Newham, East London, was charged on Monday, June 24, 2024, with grievous bodily harm.

He is released on bond and told to appear in Medway Magistrates’ Court on August 6..
