Three men arrested arrested in Gillingham with weapons

Following a report of suspicious circumstances in Gillingham, officers from the Dorset Police Rural Crime unit stopped a vehicle yesterday evening as it was driving from the north Dorset area into Somerset.

Officers found and confiscated five weapons, including axes, hammers, and knives, eighteen tools suspected of being used in thefts, and cloned number plates after searching the car.

Three guys were taken into custody on charges of carrying an offensive weapon in a public setting and being equipped for theft.

One car was impounded because it was being used illegally.

The cops then located the allegedly pilfered goods.

“With assistance from Avon and Somerset and Wiltshire Police, further searches conducted at addresses linked to the detainees led to the recovery of suspected stolen items from industrial sites,” a spokeswoman for the Dorset Police Rural Crime Team stated.
