Police hunting for dashcam footage after man dies at incident in Glasgow now

A man died during an altercation in Glasgow, and police are searching for dashcam evidence.

On Wednesday, December 4, at around 12:35 p.m., police were called to the scene of a crash involving a green Vauxhall Insignia in the East End’s Carntyne Road neighbourhood.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, the motor’s driver, a 59-year-old man, was declared deceased at the site.

Since then, his family has been notified.

Officers told us that no one else was hurt in the collision, as we originally reported.

The force has since stated that investigations into the collision are still ongoing. Police have asked anyone who saw the incident or may have dashcam footage that could help them with their inquiry to contact them as part of their investigation.

Officers have also expressed gratitude to the people who pulled over to assist before emergency personnel reached the scene of the collision.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who passed away at this difficult time,” said Sergeant Chris Hoggans.

“We’ll be there for them for the course of the inquiry.

We want to express our gratitude to the people who came to the scene to assist before emergency personnel arrived.

“Anyone who saw the incident and hasn’t talked to police yet is urged to contact me.

“I would also encourage anyone who was driving in this vicinity at the time and might have dashcam footage that could help us to get in touch with us.”

Police Scotland’s spokeswoman went on to say: “Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 1607 of December 4, 2024.”
