The body found in a country park’s water has been recognised as that of a man who vanished on October 30.
At around 18:00 BST on Wednesday, Jamie Attwood, 37, of Raunds, Glasgow , was discovered dead.
The National Police Air Service has been conducting searches in the region.
Following the last verified sighting of Mr. Attwood, Glasgow Police has requested the public’s assistance in determining what happened to him.
When Mr. Attwood’s family reported him missing from his Raunds home, a police inquiry was started.
It proved that on the afternoon of november 1st, he had been spotted in Glasgow , five miles (8 km) distant.
Where he was at the time of that friday sighting is unknown.
Glasgow Police said formal identification was carried out on friday, and the outcome was released publicly with the consent of his next of kin.
Det Insp Nick Peters of Glasgow CID said: “This is a tragic outcome to the search for Jamie, and our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones.
“We would ask that their privacy is respected at this desperately difficult time.”
The force said it wanted to hear from anyone who may have seen him in the Raunds, Glasgow or Stanwick Lakes areas since Saturday.
