According to the NBA injury report, forward Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors is listed as doubtful for Wednesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings due to a lower-body ailment.
Kuminga has missed the Warriors’ most recent game, a 130-102 victory against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans on the road on Monday, and it now looks as though he could miss another one.
Kuminga doesn’t appear to be suffering from a significant injury, though. The earliest he can play again is on Friday, when the Warriors open a four-game road trip against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder, should he eventually be declared ineligible for the Sacramento game.
The Warriors recently exercised their $7.64 million 2024–25 club option on Kuminga on Tuesday. This implies that he will have at least one more season after this one to convince Golden State to extend their contract to him. Kuminga was chosen by the Warriors in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draught, eighth overall.
Kuminga has averaged 9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game in the NBA thus far in his career. In the three games he has played so far in the 2023–24 NBA season, he has shot 44.4 percent from the field and scored 33 points overall with 13 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and a block.
The Warriors also list Dario Saric and Klay Thompson as injured due to right hip contusion and right knee pain, respectively, in addition to Jonathan Kuminga. Both of them are likely to attend the meeting with Sacramento.
