Grimsby Town boss David Artell has said recruitment plans for the summer have already started.
Grimsby Town are putting some early work in as they look to bolster their ranks at the end of the season.
The Mariners are currently battling to survive in League Two and won 1-0 at home to Newport County last time out with striker Danny Rose scoring the winner.
When asked about players who are out of contract in late June, Artell told BBC Humberside Sport: “Yeah we’ve spoken to one or two but we’ve got to be really mindful of league position. That doesn’t help because it allows players to go ‘I’ll wait and see’, I get that.
“On 1st February you review what you’ve done, where can you improve and how do we instil that into summer’s recruitment.
“Last week I had two meetings with two players who are not at the football club for example. We’re already trying to catch the worm, if you like, and be an early bird. We feel the recruitment we did in January helped us.”
