Hampshire, the three-time winners of the T20 Blast, is reportedly one of five teams invited to the new T20 competition, the Global Super League.
With a reported $1 million (£764,000) prize fund, the tournament is scheduled to begin this November in South America.
It is endorsed by the government of Guyana, the country where it will be held, and Cricket West Indies.
Hampshire is one of the teams invited to compete, according to BBC Radio Solent.
Additionally, according to BBC Radio Solent, The Titans, a South African franchise, are scheduled to participate in the competition.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors will compete in cricket at this inaugural event, which is South America’s first standalone cricket match.
The Guyana National Stadium in Providence, which has 20,000 seats, will host all of the games.
Five teams from five different nations will compete in the tournament, which runs from November 26 to December 7.
