Harrogate Town fans favourite ruled out for the the rest of the season as he suffer yet another injury blow

Josh Falkingham, the captain of Harrogate Town, is expected to miss the majority of three months due to injury, dealing the team yet another setback.
When the Sulphurites learnt that the 34-year-old midfielder needed surgery for a lower leg injury, they already had a number of players ruled out, the majority of whom had chronic conditions.

At first, manager Simon Weaver hoped Falkingham’s injury would not be serious, but he was taken off the pitch just 14 minutes into last Saturday’s 3-0 home loss to AFC Wimbledon.

However, a scan has shown that the former Leeds United player has actually suffered a great deal of harm.

The Harrogate boss clarified, “Falks is not in a good way and he’s going to have to have surgery on his lower leg.”

Because of that incidence, he has three injuries in one. It’s not simple. It’s a lower shin injury; I believe a piece of bone has been chipped off the tibia, leaving an unstable joint there. Surgery is required to provide him the stability he needs.

“It is devastating for both him and our team that he will be out for 12 weeks.”

Town was already without winger Ellis Taylor (quad), midfielder George Thomson (achilles), and defender Liam Gibson (hamstring), and it is anticipated that none of those players will be eligible for selection until after the year has ended.

Although midfielder Stephen Dooley (head) is reportedly improving, Weaver believes he is highly unlikely to play in Saturday’s League Two match against Tranmere Rovers (12.30pm).
