Woman and two children killed in car crash

Following a deadly collision at South Stainley in the Ripon area that claimed the lives of a woman and two children, police are asking for witnesses and dashcam evidence.

On ,July 6, at approximately 9:00 A.M, something happened on the A61 between South Stainley and Ripley.

A double-decker bus, a blue Toyota Aygo, and a silver Vauxhall Meriva were all involved in the crash.

The bus was moving in the opposite direction from the Vauxhall and Toyota, which were heading south towards Ripley.
Sadly, after the crash, the three people inside the Vauxhall Meriva—a six-year-old boy, a teenage girl, and a woman in her 30s—all passed away. They have notified and are receiving specialised support from their next of kin.

The two occupants of the Toyota were unharmed, however the bus’s driver was hospitalised with leg injuries, and a few other passengers also received hospitalisation for minor injuries.

If anyone has seen any of the vehicles before the collision or saw the collision happen, police are pleading for them to get in contact with them if they haven’t already.

Additionally, they’re urging anyone with dashcam footage of the vehicles going along the A61 before the crash or of the collision itself to get in contact.
