A man has died after a two-car crash which closed a busy road yesterday evening.
The 46-year-old driver of a red Nissan Qashqai was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the A29 near Bognor at 8.45pm on June 28.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested following the crash.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating a collision in Bognor in which a man has sadly died.
At about 8:45 p.m. on Friday, there were reports of a collision involving two cars on Shripney Road in Bognor, prompting the dispatch of emergency services.
“A black Audi driving northward was claimed to have collided with a red Nissan Qashqai travelling south.
“The 46-year-old Bognor resident who was operating the Nissan was tragically confirmed dead at the scene. His family has been notified.
The 30-year-old Bognor resident who was riding in the Nissan only had minor wounds.
The Audi’s driver, a resident of Bersted, was detained on suspicion of not providing a specimen and was subsequently transported to the hospital with severe injuries.
