Sadly, a rider lost their life in yesterday’s tragedy near Harrogate.
The collision occurred on Greenhow Hill Road, Thruscross, at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, according to North Yorkshire Police. A grey BMW 116D automobile and a blue BMW 1200 motorcycle were involved in the collision.
Regretfully, the 59-year-old man who was riding the motorbike was declared dead at the site.
After receiving treatment at a hospital, the woman in her 30s who was driving the car was allowed to go.

Anyone with additional information or who saw the collision is encouraged to contact North Yorkshire Police. “We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision near Harrogate,” a force spokesperson stated.
“It happened at about 2.40pm on Wednesday 29 June 2024, on Greenhow Hill Road, Thruscross, and involved a blue BMW 1200 motorcycle and a grey BMW 116D car.
“Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle, a 59-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
