A man in his 30s was critically hurt in an accident involving two cars and two motorcycles.
Shortly before 15:00 BST on Monday, emergency services were summoned to the A169 Saltersgate Bank in Pickering.
According to North Yorkshire Police, a Yamaha Tracer, a Kawasaki KLE, a red Suzuki Celerio, and a black Peugeot 2008 SUV were all involved in the collision.
The force reported on Monday that no other people were hurt and that one of the bikers, a man from Selby in his 30s, was critically ill in the hospital.
Shortly before the crash, the Peugeot and the two motorbikes were heading north towards RAF Flyingdales, while the Suzuki was heading south, according to the police.
Up until now, the road is closed.

The force is asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch with them.
