Live updates serious crash shuts Haverhill road and leaves four dead

A road is closed in a Suffolk town following a crash close to the Cambs border today (Tuesday, May 2). Police are at the scene on Cleves Road, Haverhill.

Emergency services were first called to the scene at around 6.21pm. The road is currently shut to both road traffic and pedestrians – with police advising that the closure may remain in place ‘for some time’.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: “Police are currently dealing with a single vehicle RTC on Cleves Road, in Haverhill, Suffolk. Officers were called to the scene at 18.21hrs, today, Tuesday 2 nd May 2023.

“The road is closed just after the junction of Cramswell Close up to the roundabout outside Clements County Primary School at Greenfields Way and is likely to be closed for some time.

“Please note that this area will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians. A further update will be released once the road has reopened.”
