Brooksby previously served as the club’s AFLW Strategy and Opposition Coach in 2022 before taking on the role as AFLW Head of Development in 2023.
The former Gold Coast, West Coast and Hawthorn big man has been an important member of the Hawks AFLW program since its inaugural season, while also playing an integral part in Box Hill’s VFL and VFLW recruiting teams, alongside running the Hawks Academy program.
His new position comes as former AFLW midfield coach David Mackay moves into a development role in the AFL program, while former AFLW list manager Mitch Cashion takes on a new opportunity within the Hawks Academy.
Max Bailey, General Manager of Football Operations at Hawthorn, stated that Brooksby brings a plethora of expertise and experience to his new roles.
From our first season in 2022, Keegan has been essential to the growth of our AFLW programme, according to Bailey.
“Having already completed two years of service at the club in a variety of capacities, he is well-suited to take on this thrilling new role as our AFLW List Manager / Midfield Coach.
“He is a valued employee, but he’s also a valued person who deserves this opportunity much more than anything.”
