Due to reports of a crash, a portion of East Lancashire Road is closed this morning.
There is a closure on the eastbound A580 East Lancashire Road between A58 Liverpool Road (Pewfall Traffic Lights) and M6 J23 (Haydock).
The incident has reportedly been ongoing since 3.30 am today , according to traffic and travel tracker INRIX.
Traffic jams and lines to the A58 Liverpool Road through Haydock as it approaches the M6 J24. They are now diverting traffic.
Investigations into accidents are presently underway.
