6 Hearts players that is leaving in January transfer Steven has told Hearts fans’

The Jambos may look to trim their squad in January but will hope Shankland is one who stays

Hearts fans should not expect a bustling January, according to Steven Naismith, but he is trying to conduct some business.

It’s also understood he’d like to cut the roster and create more of a pathway into the first-team for young players, so some exits from Tynecastle are possible this month. Some athletes may be looking for other possibilities since they are not getting enough football.

While other members of the Jambos squad have courted transfer interest in the past and may do so again. And there is one player in particular who will continue to be the focus of much speculation while supporters and everyone connected with the club will be praying he stays where he is as we move into February.

Andy Halliday

The experienced midfielder has not been getting a look in and has failed to even make the bench several times so it would not be a surprise to see him exit Tynecastle.

At the age of 32, it’s likely he will want to get back playing with perhaps one more transfer in him

Peter Haring

In a similar position to Halliday in that he’s just not playing at the minute.

In fact, the Austrian hasn’t been seen since conceding a last minute penalty at Ibrox for a silly shirt pull.

Probably on a decent wage so an exit would free up some funds.

Toby Sibbick

Another who hasn’t been starting many games, although is often used from the bench.

However, Hearts are looking to sign a right-back and with Craig Halkett back fit now they do have more bodies in defence than previously.

The fact Kye Rowles and Nathaniel Atkinson are at the Asian Cup complicates things though and it may be that any transfer happens at the end of the window.

Jorge Grant

Had been playing a bit more, and well, up until picking up an untimely injury but was told last summer he was free to go before working his way back in.

There has been interest in the midfielder before so if an offer comes in, the Jambos could decide to cash in.

Connor Smith

On loan at Scunthorpe United and they do have the option to make it permanent
