Hibs Head Coach Nick Montgomery is hoping his side can get back to winning ways this weekend when we travel to Ross County on Saturday.
The Hibees are in the Highlands this weekend for our fourth away game on the spin in what has been a busy festive football schedule.
We come into this one off the back of a disappointing defeat away at St Johnstone and Montgomery is hoping to rectify that performance this weekend in Dingwall.
“Last weekend wasn’t good enough, we accept that – I accept that, the performance level wasn’t what I expect and it wasn’t what the players expect of themselves.
“We all accept that, but now it’s gone and we have to make sure we go out and put a good performance in against Ross County.
“It’s our fourth away game on the bounce, it has been quite a difficult period for us with quite a lot of travel.
“We’ve got another overnight stay, it’s another difficult game but it is an opportunity for us to get back to winning ways.
This will be the second time Montgomery has faced Ross County this season with the first ending in a 2-2 draw at Easter Road. The Staggies have since changed Manager, with Derek Adams taking charge in mid-November, and Montgomery is still expecting a physical test.
“We know it’s not going to be an easy game, going to Ross County is always difficult especially since they are coming off the back of a disappointing defeat as well so they will want to right those wrongs as well. We are expecting a very physical battle.
“The new manager has come in and naturally it’ll take a bit of time to implement their ideas. But we know they are a competitive side, they have probably not got the results they have deserved at times, but we need to make sure our focus is on ourselves.”
For the fourth time in a row, the Hibs supporters will be on the road again and Montgomery is hoping to send them back down the road happy with a positive result.
“I’ve said it from the start, we all appreciate the fans that come to the games” , Monty went on to say.
“We were disappointed for them last weekend, as were the players, because we knew the fans deserved better.” They deserve more energy and intensity than we demonstrated the previous time we played.
“We will be doing everything we can this weekend to give them a good result going into Christmas.”
