West Yorkshire Police have now confirmed three people were injured in the collision with one of those in critical condition
Following yesterday’s three-car collision on the M62 near Huddersfield, one individual is in critical condition and another is receiving medical attention.
On Thursday, September 19, just before 9 p.m., a crash occurred on the M62 between J22 and J23. Traffic scanners report that after Friday night’s incident, eastbound traffic was stopped starting at 9:35 p.m.
After emergency personnel arrived on the site, it is now established that two persons were hurt in the serious collision and sent to the hospital; one of them is presently in critical condition.
“Emergency services were called to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the eastbound M62, close to junction 23, at 8:55pm last night,” a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson stated. “Two people were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.” The injuries to one of those individuals are thought to be potentially fatal. While investigations were underway, the M62 eastbound was closed in the vicinity. It was partially reopened around 5:10 am and then fully reopened shortly after.
During the early hours of this morning, the M62 was closed while traffic authorities conducted investigations into a collision. National Highways has since confirmed that it has reopened.
