After completing his transfer to Huddersfield Town, Radinio Balker speaks out#

Radinio Balker, a new signing for , is eager to get going after leaving FC Groningen in the Netherlands.

At the end of last week, Town added a fourth new recruit to their total when they signed Rhys Healey a day later on Friday, making the center-back their third acquisition of the transfer window.

The 25-year-old defender, who played for Almere City and FC Groningen in the top two divisions of Dutch football, decided to leave his native country and inked a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Terriers.

Balker feels that his new team shares his aspirations for growth as a player, and the 25-year-old is excited to get going as they work to achieve those goals together.

Following his talks with former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Joey Pelupessy, a teammate at FC Groningen, the defender was left feeling “very excited” about his move. Additionally, he believes that Terriers manager Darren Moore, a former centre back, can help him get better.

After making the transfer, the new hire spoke with HTTV, saying, “I’m happy to be here. This morning I was still in the Netherlands. I couldn’t wait to be here.”

“Let me start by saying that, in my opinion, England is the biggest football nation. When I learned about the interest in the second item, I thought, “Okay, let’s see what kind of club this is.”

The new hire told HTTV, “I’m happy to be here,” after making the transfer. I was still in the Netherlands this morning. I was eager to arrive here.

“Let me begin by stating that England is, in my opinion, the largest football nation. “Okay, let’s see what kind of club this is,” was my initial thought upon learning about the interest in the second item.

“I’m happy to be here,” the new hire said to HTTV following the transfer. This morning, I was still in the Netherlands. I couldn’t wait to get here.

“To start, let me say that I believe England to be the biggest football nation. “Alright, let’s see what kind of club this is,” was my first reaction when I heard about the interest in the second item.

Because of the incredible team, I believe there are high goals here as well, and I share those goals. I don’t consider it to be a significant commitment; rather, I see it as typical of a team with aspirations as high as this one.

Balker completed his transfer on Thursday, but he was unable to play in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers because of illness when he first arrived at the team.

The 25-year-old centre back is expected to play in Sunday’s pivotal match against QPR, but he was allowed to travel to Ewood Park to watch his new team in action.

“We brought him here today. We checked with our doctor that he’d be okay to come and travel,” Moore told HTTV after the game. “The reason why we brought him here today was because I wanted him to get straight into it.

“For the first couple of days next week, he’ll be with the sports science and the medical team, and then we’ll have him for three or four days building into the QPR game.

“We just thought we’d bring him today because when he first arrived, he was sick in the hotel, and as a new signing, all they want to do is get in and around the players.

“The doctor gave us permission to bring him, and we did so to give him a feel for the dressing room, introduce him to his new teammates, and watch the game. This way, he can see what we’re all about and receive the messages. This will give him an extra advantage when he starts next week because he will be able to see the game and be in the dressing room, which will help him understand how we’ve been interacting with the players.

It’s good to have him here, and maybe he can join the team the following week.
