Huddersfield Town captain Hogg match Ban, details….

The skipper earned his fourth yellow card of the season against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend and the cut-off point for an automatic ban is still some time away.

Jonathan Hogg will walk a disciplinary tightrope over the next few games after receiving his fourth booking of the season late in the game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, placing him one yellow card away from an inevitable ban. Hogg was penalised deep into injury time for a nasty challenge on Owls centre-back Di’shon Bernard to prevent him from breaking upfield after a Huddersfield Town attack fell down.

This was the Terriers captain’s first card since getting booked three times in the opening four games of the new Championship season, but it puts him in danger of being suspended for the following eight games. According to FA regulations, players who receive five yellow cards before the 19th league game of the season face an automatic one-match suspension.

If the fixture slate continues unchanged, Hogg will be have to remain uncarded until the trip to Swansea City on December 2. Town fans will no doubt be especially anxious for the combative captain to be available for the huge derby game against Leeds United on October 28 at Elland Road.
