Huddersfield Town close in on deal to Sign dream Attacker#

Huddersfield Town has reportedly been linked to an attacker from the division below as they look to bolster their attacking unit before the January transfer window closes.

The Terriers are struggling to stay afloat in the second division of English football, and the numbers do not favour the team. Having lost their last four league games, Darren Moore’s team currently has the fifth-worst offensive and defensive record in the Championship and is only three points above the relegation zone.Nevertheless, after completing the signings of Alex Matos and Bojan Radulovic, Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle disclosed two weeks ago that the team hoped to add three more players to the Kirklees Stadium.

“You can never really predict exactly when a signing is going to come. I can tell you we have a list of nine or ten people that we’re targeting.

“I’m hoping that we get another three, I’m gonna put a number to it. That’s the goal I’ve given our team, I feel very excited.”

“It’s impossible to say with certainty when a signing will occur. I can confirm that we have a list of nine or ten individuals that we want to target.

“I’m going to assign a number to it, and I’m hoping for three more. That’s the objective I set for our team, and I’m thrilled about it.

Although Jones’ contract expires at the end of the 2023–2024 season, the outlet also reports that the Latics intend to keep the 29-year-old on staff and will soon begin negotiations on a new agreement.

This season, Jones has been a key member of Wigan’s squad, making 23 appearances across all competitions under Shaun Maloney. Jones can play on the left or right side of the attack and, if necessary, at number ten. Besides, his contract expires in six months, but his current market value is £280,000.

The Northern Ireland international might be persuaded to sign this, as it would be a great addition, especially if Wigan doesn’t offer him favourable terms in a new contract offer.
