Huddersfield Town face anxious wait over in-form defender after late Swansea City sucker-punch

Versatile defender Ben Jackson was forced off in the second half of Huddersfield Town’s home draw with Swansea City

Ben Jackson will be examined by Huddersfield Town this week. The adaptable defender left the 1-1 draw against Swansea City at the hour mark on Saturday.

After the game, Terriers manager Darren Moore expressed his optimism that Jackson—who has shown some impressive performances lately—was simply experiencing “tiredness and fatigue” rather than an injury. Danny Ward received his first start from Moore since he suffered an Achilles injury in September, and Josh Koroma and Delano Burgzorg, who both made their midweek starts at Sunderland, were used off the bench on Saturday.

The Terriers still have a long list of injuries, though. Eight athletes participated in the journey to the principality. Moore said that with a busy schedule of games coming up, any more losses were the “last thing” they needed.

Moore stated on the team’s website, “I’m thrilled with the two games, the minutes that we’ve got into Del and Danny.” “If you consider the upcoming Christmas season, that will provide enough minutes for those two.

“Therefore, in addition to playing the game today, we also need to think about the Christmas programme, and the last thing we needed was for someone to really get hurt badly today from overuse.

“Jacko is the only one who needs to be concerned, but we’ll evaluate him over the next few days. We hope that you are just tired, as it makes sense given that you have to cover a lot of ground while playing wing-back. We’re hoping that’s not a major issue so we can move on from the game without any problems.

After the international break, Town played three games in a short period of time, winning three of them against Southampton, Sunderland, and Swansea City. The match at home against Bristol City is the next. This is the first of six games that will take place before the year is out. After a testing week, Moore has given his players an extra day off.

Moore said, “I’ll give them a few days, and we’ll be back in Tuesday ready to work.” Because of their workload and travel schedule, rest and recovery are occasionally just as crucial as practising on the pitch.

“We’ll start some work building up for that Bristol City game on Tuesday when we return.”
