HUDDERSFIELD TOWN midfielder Scott High has been recalled by the Championship outfit from a loan spell at Scottish Premier League side Ross County due to a hamstring injury.
High joined the Staggies on a season-long loan at the end of the previous summer window, but he has only made two substitute appearances, the last coming in early November.
The 22-year-old appeared once for Town at the start of the season, in an EFL Cup fixture against Middlesbrough in August.
Given that he has already played for two clubs already in 2023-24, High cannot play for another this season under Fifa rules.
The Dewsbury-born player appeared four times in the last third of the season during the club’s ‘Great Escape’ from relegation under Neil Warnock, the latest of which came in an Easter Monday tie with Blackburn Rovers.
The player was on loan to Rotherham United for the first half of last season before being recalled in January.
High, who previously had a loan spell at Shrewsbury Town, made 15 appearances for Rotherham, 12 of which came from the bench.
Last week, Town called up defender Brodie Spencer from his season-long loan stay with Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League.
The 19-year-old, who has been a regular for Well this season and has already been capped at senior level by Northern Ireland, started the Terriers’ FA Cup match against Manchester City on Sunday.
Town, who face Plymouth Argyle in the Championship on Saturday, have already brought in two players in the January transfer window: Chelsea loanee Alex Matos and Serbian striker Bojan Radulović, both of whom made their debuts at the Etihad.
