Huddersfield Town vacant job: A new big name enters the fold#

After Darren Moore was fired earlier this week, academy manager Jon Worthington took over as interim manager of Huddersfield. The person named as Moore’s replacement will have to decide whether or not the Championship continues, which presents the club with a difficult choice.

Fortunately for Huddersfield, there are plenty of seasoned coaches out of work right now who can be signed on for nothing. However, one of BetVictor’s top candidates to take over as manager is a manager who is currently employed.

In addition to being employed right now, he is already well-known to the supporters of John Smith’s Stadium. Wagner, the Terriers’ 2015–2019 manager, is the fourth favourite at 10/1 to win the position.

He is on par with Neil Warnock, another former Huddersfield manager who has a great deal of experience. On the list of favourites, only Paul Heckingbottom, Michael Duff, and John Eustace are ranked higher than the other two.

Wagner enjoyed plenty of success in West Yorkshire and led the club to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs in in 2017. With Huddersfield facing relegation to the Championship, he departed later in 2019.

Wagner returned to England in January 2023 to take over as Norwich’s manager after positions as manager in Germany and Switzerland. Three points outside the play-offs, the Canaries are presently positioned 10th in the Championship table.
