Barnsley striker Devante Cole is being pursued by Hull City, Huddersfield Town, and Cardiff City, according to Sky Sports.
Barnsley could face a battle to keep hold of the attacker between now and the end of the transfer window.
In all competitions so far this season, Cole, 28, has netted 15 goals for the League One team.
According to Sky Sports, Hull, Huddersfield, and Cardiff are keeping an eye on him in anticipation of a possible winter transfer.
Cole joined Barnsley in 2021 and has since developed into a vital member of the South Yorkshire team. In the previous season, he contributed a total of 16 goals to assist them go to the play-off final.
The Cheshire-born man’s contract expires at the conclusion of this term, and as things stand, he will be free to sign with any team in June. If the Tykes don’t make money off of him this month—that is, if he doesn’t sign a new contract anytime soon—they run the possibility of losing him for nothing.
With just around 350 career appearances under his belt, Cole is an accomplished player. He has represented teams including Burton Albion, Wigan Athletic, Bradford City, MK Dons, Wigan Athletic, and Manchester City.
Over the last 18 months, he has established himself at Barnsley in the third tier, and he might now be prepared to go up a league.
With Liam Delap sidelined due to injury, Hull might use another forward. They signed Billy Sharp last month, but they would be short-handed if either Aaron Connolly or he suffered an injury as they aim to qualify for the playoffs.
