According to Fabrizio Romano, there is a lot of interest in moving Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho, and the executive vice-chairman of one of the clubs has already stated that he plans to make a sizable offer.
Carvalho, 21, left Fulham in the summer of 2022 for Liverpool in a deal that was valued at £7.7 million. After seeing little action in his debut season at Anfield, the Portuguese attacker was duly loaned out to RB Leipzig in advance of the current campaign.
Carvalho was only able to make one Bundesliga start during his time in Germany, thus the stint did not turn out as planned for any of the parties involved.
As a result, Liverpool terminated the agreement in January before Hull City, a Championship team, was granted permission for a second loan period.
Since joining Hull, Carvalho has appeared as though he has undergone a complete transformation. In 16 games, he has scored eight goals.
Tan Kesler, the executive vice-chairman of Hull, has previously stated that if his team is promoted to the Premier League, they will make a bid for Carvalho.
In March, Kesler told I News, “I’m not going to say it’s easy because the financials are strong.”
Liverpool will demand a sizable transfer fee for Carvalho, who makes a salary comparable to that of a player in the Premier League.
“We will invest to sign Fabio if there is no FFP, no rules, and no control. The chairman would want to sign him and he would do it in a heartbeat.
“Given the money we would be getting if we were promoted, we would definitely pursue him and try to spend it on players like Fabio.
Some of our fans may have inflated expectations, but we have a lot of optimism. We would love to have him for a long time, so we will act if any of this occurs.
Sadly, Kesler and Hull were not given the opportunity to purchase anything from Carvalho in the loan agreement. As such, when it comes time to haggle over a price, they will be at Liverpool’s mercy.
Hull is also currently six points outside of the final play-off spot. They still need a favour or two from those above them to finish in the play-off spots and maintain their hopes of promotion, but they do have the game under control.
However, if Hull’s attempts to sign Carvalho completely fail, there will undoubtedly be plenty of suitors eager to take a chance on the Reds player.
Serie A an option for Carvalho
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano stated on X that interest in Carvalho is growing. The reporter also pointed out that English clubs aren’t the only ones showing interest.
“Fabio Carvalho is doing great on loan at Hull City. Since joining the Championship side in January, he has scored eight goals in sixteen games,” Romano stated.
“Liverpool is pleased with his performances, and a number of clubs, including Italian teams, are expressing interest ahead of the summer window.”
The fact that Carvalho’s loan was not extended by Liverpool to Hull implies that they think the player will stay at Anfield.
Nevertheless, the person who takes over for Jurgen Klopp in the dugout will probably make the final call regarding Carvalho.
In that regard, it is generally believed that Ruben Amorim of Sporting CP will lead Liverpool into a new era.
