Vice-chairman Tan Kesler of Hull City stated that the club’s management is “always” monitoring the Turkish market.
Hull City may try to bolster their Super Lig roster in the summer in order to get ready for the upcoming campaign.
Though they are six points outside of the playoffs, the Tigers are currently ranked seventh in the Championship table.
In an interview with Asist Analiz, Kesler provided the following recruitment update (via Sport Witness): “We have such talented players on our team. However, we also wish to provide our own country’s children with this opportunity. Although Uyan is the cornerstone of our game philosophy, we place a lot of emphasis on Turkish players who have been profiled as players who can help us succeed and advance.
“As you know, Doğukan (Sinik) is here, Ozan (Tufan) is with us, Abdülkadir (Omur), one of the leaders of the team for a long time has just joined but adapted very well. We went through both Turkish and foreign players who played in the Turkish Super Lig. Turkey is with us, Turkey is our audience. We are always watching Turkey and following it.”
Hull City transfer plans
Acun Ilicali, a Turkish businessman, acquired Hull in January 2022. Since then, the team has signed players from the top division in his native Turkey, including Benjamin Tetteh, Dimitrios Pelkas, and Dogukan Sinik, none of whom have shown success.
The latter is still registered at MKM Stadium, but in order to get some playing time, he has recently been loaned out to Antalyaspor and Hatayspor.
Ozan Tufan, who joined the Tigers in 2022 from Fenerbahce, has been an outstanding player. In East Yorkshire, the former Watford loanee has won over a lot of supporters.
Nine of his 17 goals have come this season. He has made 77 appearances for the team in all competitions to date.
Abdush Omur, a 24-year-old attacking player who plays for Turkey, was acquired by Liam Rosenior’s team from Trabzonspor this past winter, and he has settled in nicely in England.
Although he hasn’t scored yet, he’s had a lot of playing time lately and should have a significant role next season.
Hull still has a chance to finish in the top six, but they will need help from other teams to beat Norwich City and West Brom.
The Tigers are unbeaten in their last three games after defeating QPR 3-0 at home last time out thanks to goals from Tufan, Fabio Carvalho, and Jaden Philogene.
They return to action this weekend when they travel to Watford on the road in an effort to maintain pressure on the teams above them.
