Jaden Philogene injury update reveal…

In the second half of the match at Loftus Road, the leading scorer for the Tigers hobbled off.

With six goals so far this season, England under-21 international Philogene has been a vital member of Hull’s attacking unit.

According to manager Liam Rosenior, Philogene will undergo evaluation to determine the full extent of the injury.

Rosenior said on BBC Radio Humberside, “We have to get him scanned,” which means he will not play in Wednesday’s league game against Middlesbrough.

“He’s got a minor injury to his medial knee. A season of injuries is inevitable, and this one off a tackle is particularly unfortunate.

“I can’t give any time-frame on it and we’ll work with what we’ve got on Wednesday.”

Alfie Jones, a centre back, is expected to rejoin the team for Hull’s midweek trip to Riverside Stadium, where they will look to reclaim the top six spot they lost over the weekend, according to Rosenior.

The manager announced that he had made the decision for Jones to attend his first child’s birth the evening before the QPR game.

Rosenior stated: “My love and respect goes out to Alfie and his partner. He’s missed the game for the best reason you could ask for—he recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

“I fully supported Alfie and wanted him to be there for the birth of his child because it’s his first child and there are some things in life that you regret not being there for.

“Not everything is as big as football. Alfie is a first-rate professional who has performed brilliantly thus far this season. He will be back and ready to play on Wednesday.

“It wasn’t because I didn’t think this game was significant that I made this decision. I constantly remind the players that we are a family and that family is very important because I am a mother of three children myself.

“You can’t say that and then go against it at key moments in your life.”
