On Saturday, August 10, at five in the morning, a red Toyota Celica was heading east on the A63 towards Hull. The car veered off the road and onto the nearby railway track as it went beneath the Humber Bridge.

The collision left a 20-year-old man with serious injuries, who is still receiving treatment at Hull Royal Infirmary. The 19-year-old man who was riding with him sustained minor wounds.
