Hull City ‘run the rule’ over highly-rated youngster

Ahead of the upcoming season, the Tigers want to bolster their academy ranks.

Lewis Latona, a highly regarded central midfielder who has drawn attention while playing for League One for Hamilton Academical in Scotland, is being watched by Hull City.

According to the Daily Record, Latona came up through the ranks at New Douglas Park and has pleased City, who saw him at Bishop Burton last month to give the 17-year-old a closer look.

The juvenile player has only made one appearance for the first squad this season, but he has experience in the UEFA Youth League, having participated in two games against Molde, a Norwegian team, going 3-0 and 4-2 respectively.

Latona seems to be the latest young player being watched by English clubs, including City. The Record reports that it is unclear if the two clubs can agree on a cost. Accies’ academy has produced some quality in recent seasons, with clubs south of the border eager to grab their kids.

Ramell Carter, a former Spurs player, is among a plethora of new players that the Tigers academy is set to reveal in the next few days.
