Danny took a few years off from being captain, and I believe it was necessary. Although being captain can be taxing at times, Smith said that this year he is prepared to assume the responsibility and give it his all.
His teammates are completely behind him since they like working with him. He sets an exemplary example.
“Brad Fash will make a good vice-captain because he is a Hull FC supporter and he leads by example,” he continued.
He is now one of the senior guys, and in my opinion, he is prepared for a leadership position. His communication skills are excellent, and he never asks someone to do something that he wouldn’t do himself.
In the meantime, Houghton feels honoured by the choice.
Houghton remarked, “It’s a true honour for me to captain my hometown club again.”
“I’m really committed to giving it my all in 2024, and I’ll be doing everything in my power to set a positive example for this outstanding club.”
“A strong leader is something that many young players coming through the youth programme need to look up to, and that’s exactly what I’m hoping to achieve.”
“I want to think of myself as a really approachable member of the dressing room in addition to someone who sets an example both on and off the pitch. I must add that I am truly honoured to be in this role once more.
