Hull FC confirm new signing for 2025

Hardaker will be a Hull FC player next season.

When Zak Hardaker initially learned that Hull FC was interested in a contract offer for 2025 and beyond, he believes he had to “sit up and listen.” As Hull Live exclusively revealed in May, the Black and Whites have now officially confirmed the 32-year-old’s signing. Hardaker has signed a two-year contract.

The centre, who can play on the wing or as a full-back, is the club’s fourth official addition for the upcoming campaign. He will join Amir Bourouh, Jordan Abdull, and John Asiata in John Cartwright’s squad. He is the second Leigh Leopards recruit who has been confirmed, with Oliver Holmes and Ed Chamberlain still to come. Additionally, Cade Cust from the Salford Red Devils signed.

A former Man of Steel winner with over 360 career games, 10 major honours, and a wealth of experience, Hardaker is one of the most distinguished and experienced players in Super League. In a stellar six-year tenure at Leeds Rhinos, he won most of his medals, including the World Club Challenge, League Leaders Shield, Challenge Cup, and Super League.

Prior to that, Hardaker, who came through the Featherstone Lions youth system, made his professional debut with Featherstone Rovers in 2010. In addition, he was an international player for both England and Great Britain and has played for the Castleford Tigers, Wigan Warriors, Leigh, and Penrith Panthers.

In his 15-year career, he has scored over 1,100 points, including 114 tries and nearly 300 goals. But most significantly, he is still a regular with the Leopards, for whom he has only missed six games since joining at the beginning of the previous campaign.
“When a club like Hull FC wants to bring you in, you tend to sit up and listen, and I’m really excited to join a club like this for 2025,” Hardaker said in reference to his contract. I’ve always enjoyed coming to play at the MKM Stadium, so I’m excited to make it my new home pitch for the upcoming campaign.

Richie Myler, meanwhile, believes Hardaker’s experience will be crucial for the side next year, in particular their rising young players. The Director of Rugby added: “We’re delighted to be adding one of the most experienced outside-backs in the game to our ranks next season in Zak.
