Hull FC keen on Wigan Warriors man as they target extended deal

Hull FC’s annus horribilis continues, and shows no sign of improving. FC lost their 11th Super League game of the season at the weekend, going down 30-22 against the side above them in the table, Castleford Tigers.

The Black and Whites have brought in a number of players mid-season in the hope of turning their year around. Tom Briscoe joined the club from the Leigh Leopards to bolster their inexperienced back line. Ben Reynolds also joined from city rivals, Hull KR, to add some much needed creativity to the halves.

One of their most impressive signings has been young forward, Tiaki Chan, from the Wigan Warriors. Chan got on the scoresheet against the Tigers and added some punch to the FC pack. Chan is on a rolling loan deal with Hull to help him gain much needed match fitness.

Now, Grix has provided an update on his future at the MKM Stadium.

Grix praised Chan’s contributions to the team and expressed his admiration for his performance against Castleford.

After a great start, Grix expressed optimism during his weekly press conference that Chan will be able to remain at the MKM Stadium for an extended amount of time.

“Yeah, hopefully we can keep him for a decent amount of time.

“Obviously, Wigan have got some great depth and getting a look in there has been difficult for him. that’s why he’s here, and, he has shown some really good stuff.

Wigan Warriors loan players: an update
Hull FC’s terrible history persists and doesn’t seem to be getting better. FC fell short of the team sitting above them in the standings, the Castleford Tigers, in their eleventh Super League match of the season, 30-22.

In an attempt to salvage their season, the Black and Whites added a number of players in the middle of the campaign. Tom Briscoe was brought in to support the club’s inexperienced back line from the Leigh Leopards. Ben Reynolds also came from Hull KR, the city’s rivals, to provide the halves much-needed originality.

The youthful striker Tiaki has been one of their most remarkable acquisitions.

At the Catalans Dragons past season, Tiaki Chan had a breakout campaign. He consistently contributed to the team that made it to the Super League Grand Final and put on a number of visually striking performances.

In his 14 games for Les Dracs in 2023, Chan recorded 705 meters, 152 tackles, 13 tackle busts, three offloads, and one try assist. In the off-season, he joined the Wigan Warriors in the hopes of making their starting lineup.

The depth of Wigan’s roster has, however, hampered Chan’s possibilities, as he has only made three appearances for the club this season. He did, however, have a successful debut in Hull’s loss to the London Broncos, who are currently at the bottom of the league.
