New Hull FC signing Treigh Stewart plays for Queensland Cup side amid visa wait

New Hull FC signing Treigh Stewart featured for Brisbane Tigers against Wynnum Manly Seagulls over the weekend. The full-back played 73 minutes in the Tigers’ 18-16 defeat.

Stewart was one of two overseas players signed by Hull last week, with the other being Jed Cartwright. The duo were confirmed on 18-month contracts and are waiting on visa clearance before arriving in the UK later this month.

It is therefore unlikely that the pair will feature against Leeds Rhinos this weekend, with the Warrington Wolves or even Salford Red Devils games being a more realistic option.

Stewart, on the other hand, gained 128 meters on 12 carries; 43 of those were from kick returns, of which 37 occurred after contact. He completed 25 passes with two mistakes and three of his five tackles missed. With 11 games played so far this season, he has three tries scored and seven try assists for the Tigers.

Over in New South Wales, Jed Cartwright, who requested a release to join Hull, did not feature for Newcastle Knights over the weekend.

Judah Rimbu, who Hull Live exclusively reported has signed for Hull for the 2025 season, scored for PNG Hunters in their 28-22 win over Western Clydesdales. He has scored seven tries in 12 appearances this season and has a tackle efficiency of 94.4%.
