Hull KR’s blunt Ben Reynolds exit message tells tale with departure confirmed

Hull KR confirmed Ben Reynolds’ departure from the club with a cuttingly-short 14-word statement. The club headlined the exit statement by saying he was leaving by mutual arrangement.

It was then stated: ” Hull KR can confirm the club have terminated Ben Reynolds contract by mutual agreement.”

The lack of well wishes came after a difficult spell with the Robins, who had loaned him out to Hull FC until the end of the season. But the half-back, 30, has now left FC with immediate effect to sign an 18-month deal with Featherstone Rovers.

Reynolds did not spend very long at Craven Park. He came to the team in February from Featherstone Rovers, but was loaned to the team’s cross-town rivals after making just two appearances in three months. In a further strange turn of events, Reynolds is back to Featherstone less than six months after leaving the Black and Whites the week before the derby.

He had been recruited by Rovers as a replacement for Jordan Abdull, who had unexpectedly departed for Catalans Dragons in the off-season. He was brought in to act as an understudy to Tyrone May and Mikey Lewis but following his departure from Craven Park, the club moved to sign Danny Richardson for the remainder of the season.
