Now official; Liam McNeeley Signs With Indiana: ‘He is a Winner, and Now He is a Hoosier’

Liam McNeeley, a five-star small forward, became the first recruit in Mike Woodson’s 2024 class when he signed his National Letter of Intent to Indiana on Wednesday.

Indiana’s Bloomington On Wednesday, Liam McNeeley gave Indiana University his National Letter of Intent. On October 15, he verbally committed to Indiana; however, this is now official.

The 6-foot-7 small forward is originally from Richardson, Texas, and he attends Montverde Academy in Florida. With a national ranking of No. 15, McNeeley is currently Indiana’s fourth-highest recruited player since 2000, behind only Romeo Langford, Mackenzie Mgbako, and Noah Vonleh.

In a press release on Wednesday, Indiana coach Mike Woodson stated, “Liam is a very smart basketball player who will bring leadership, skill, and high-level shooting to our ball club.” “He is an unselfish player who will go above and beyond to make sure we win games. Our staff was very impressed with his versatility and shooting ability during the recruitment process. He is a winner, plays the game correctly, and is now a Hoosier.

McNeeley is the only member of Indiana’s 2024 recruiting class so far. The Hoosiers made the final three for five-star guard Boogie Fland, who committed to Kentucky in October.

Indiana’s top remaining target appears to be five-star center Derik Queen, who is teammates with McNeeley at Montverde. Queen released a final four list of Maryland, Houston, Indiana and Kansas, but it is unclear exactly when he will announce his college decision.
