United States Indiana men’s basketball: Victor Oladipo addresses the team

Former Indiana men’s basketball star and current Houston Rockets guard Victor Oladipo was in attendance for the Hoosiers’ 74-66 win over Louisville on Monday.

Oladipo is among the more decorated Hoosiers in recent memory, winning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, setting the program’s single-season steals record and being named a finalist for multiple National Player of the Year honors.

He was selected by the Orlando Magic with the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft after lifting a Big Ten championship trophy as a junior. He’s spent time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat in addition to his time with the Rockets.

After Indiana’s win, he spoke to the team in the locker room about Indiana’s importance to him and what it means to play in Bloomington.

Mike Woodson has made a point of having former Hoosiers around his program. Indiana met with Isiah Thomas after landing in New York City, Cody Zeller attended a game at Assembly Hall last year and Calbert Cheaney is a member of Woodson’s staff.
