Score prediction for Ipswich Town Star against Preston North End.

Second faces third in the Championship this weekend as Ipswich host Preston

David Prutton believes Ipswich Town will extend their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Preston North End.
Preston’s defensive record has recently deteriorated, with the club conceding seven goals in their last two games.
Ipswich Town have started the season well, with eight wins, one draw, and one loss in their first ten league games.

The Lilywhites dominated the Championship table until last weekend, when they suffered their first of two consecutive league defeats.

After losing 4-0 to West Bromwich Albion last Saturday, they fell behind this week’s opponents, Ipswich Town. Preston now trail Kieran McKenna’s team by five points after a 3-0 loss at Leicester City on Wednesday.

David Prutton has predicted the scoreline for Ipswich Town’s crucial game against Preston North End this Saturday.

The Lancashire club will be trying to return to winning ways at Portman Road on Saturday in order to stay in contention for automatic promotion.

What does David Prutton think will happen between Ipswich Town and Preston North End?

Prutton, writing for Sky Sports, feels the Tractor Boys will continue their winning ways by grabbing all three points against Preston at home.

He projected a 2-1 win for Suffolk, indicating that he expects a close game between the second and third-placed teams in the table.

If Preston lose, they might be overtaken by an in-form Sunderland side that has won five of their past six league games.

Preston can only drop to fourth in the table if they win, but a win will not put them ahead of Ipswich in second.

Meanwhile, the hosts will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins after McKenna’s team won on Tuesday night.

The club’s position in the automatic promotion slots was maintained with a 3-0 win over Hull City.

Ipswich have won eight, drawn one, and lost one of their first ten league games, a great start for the newly promoted club.
