Trevor Lawrence’s injury;- Jaguars Promote Star to the active roster..

Prior to their Thursday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints, the Jacksonville Jaguars made a calculated move by adding quarterback Nathan Rourke from their practise squad to the active roster.

This choice, which departs from the usual practise squad elevation, gives the Jaguars a vital safety net should Trevor Lawrence, their starting quarterback, be sidelined by a knee ailment.

Lawrence was tackled while making a play in the team’s most recent 37-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, resulting in a knee injury. Lawrence did, however, say after the game that he was “feeling OK.” Thankfully, the injury was only identified as a mild knee sprain, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

With the exception of a brief absence due to a toe injury last year, Lawrence, who was selected with the first overall choice in the 2021 draught, has been a reliable presence in all 42 games of his career.

Regardless of Lawrence’s availability, the Jaguars are able to get around the new third quarterback rule because to Rourke’s inclusion to the active roster.

Rourke may still play on game day if Lawrence is cleared to go. But in the event that Lawrence is unable to play, Rourke will replace C.J. Beathard as the Jaguars’ backup quarterback.

Press Taylor, the offensive coordinator for the Jaguars, showed faith in Beathard’s ability, pointing up his familiarity with the team’s scheme and league experience.

Ezoic Taylor highlighted how flexible they were, adjusting their game plan according to the opponent’s defensive schemes to give the whole team—not just the quarterback—the best chance of winning.
