Kent road closure as Police chase results to collision

Following what appeared to be a police pursuit, a car crashed into a wall, closing a nearby road.

Police have blocked traffic on the route because the Audi suffered significant damage in the collision.

At about 2:00 pm, emergency personnel were summoned to South Street in Meopham, which is close to Gravesend.

“We have just been notified of an incident in Meopham at the Village Green opposite the Windmill,” a spokesman for the Meopham Parish Council stated.

Although we are aware that the road is partially closed, police are present. According to the first report, a car struck a garden wall. Please use caution when you’re out and about.

An employee of The Cricketers Inn, a nearby pub, reported that they noticed traffic stopping outside the establishment and went outside to investigate, where they discovered the totalled car.

Before it crashed into the wall and at least one person was hurt, they claimed it was involved in a police chase, though this has not yet been verified.

Numerous emergency vehicles are parked nearby, and police officers are on the scene, according to a nearby shop owner who wished to remain anonymous.

We’ve contacted the ambulance and the police to get more details.
