According to authorities, a man lost his life in an accident on the A2 in Kent today.
At roughly 11:15 BST, a truck and a van collided, prompting Kent Police to be called to the coastbound carriageway close to Cobham.
A 20-year-old man was transported to the hospital by air ambulance and is listed as being in “serious condition” while the van’s 50-year-old driver passed away at the scene.
According to Kent Police, the lorry driver suffered minor injuries.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit officers of the force are pleading with anyone who has information to come forward.
According to National Highways, the road between the M2 near Strood and the A227 near Gravesend has been closed in both directions.
National Highways reported early on Saturday that the eastbound route had also reopened.
Drivers had been advised by Kent Police to attempt to take alternate routes whenever feasible and to anticipate “lengthy” delays.
