Teenage boy struggling for life after being airlifted to hospital after stabbing in Kent

After a teenager was stabbed in broad daylight, armed police were dispatched to a busy town centre.

The 19-year-old man sustained injuries “consistent with stab wounds” close to Gillingham’s High Street and was airlifted to a hospital yesterday, August 6.

Staff at Canterbury Street’s KFC were asked to call for assistance when he stormed in.

The victim was transported to a hospital in London by air ambulance, which was seen landing close by at Great Lines Heritage Park.

His condition is stable and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Since then, the Canterbury Street KFC manager has described the horrifying moment the young man ran into the fast food restaurant, bleeding and yelling for help, just after 4:00 p.m. Train station parking throughout the county will no longer accept cash.

“He kept saying,’sorry, sorry,’ and asking to call an ambulance,” Raza said.

Fortunately, police were passing by on patrol.

He went inside for security. Some were shocked by it, but we were busy at the time.

Eight years into running the company, Raza said there were two boys, ages eighteen to twenty.

He went on, “I didn’t recognise them.” “Gillingham, Medway is a large area with ups and downs in the weather.”

“But all in all, this place is better than anywhere else.”

According to the manager, they were closed during the police forensics incident but have reopened as of today, August 7.

“We are open as usual today and everyone is okay,” he continued. “I hope he’s okay; I know he was taken to the hospital.”

A Kent Police spokesman verified that they responded to a report of injuries “consistent with stab wounds” sustained by a 19-year-old man close to Canterbury Street in Gillingham.

“South East Coast Ambulance Service flew the victim to a hospital in London after officers, including firearms officers, responded to the scene,” he said.

Police say they are still conducting enquiries and have not yet made any arrests.

A helicopter from Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) was sent to Gillingham on August 6, according to a statement from the organisation.
